【摘要】:ComprisestheDutiesandStandardsforMachiningSkills,whichwaswritteninthreelevelsandwasfirstintroducedin1995.Theywerefullyimplementedbeginningin1997.Thestandardsarestatementsofrequiredproficiencylevelsneededforhighperformancemanufacturing.Theirpurposeistoprovideguidancetotrainingprogramsinschools,in-housecompanytraining,andinapprenticeships.Themetalworkingskillstandardsprograminordertostaycurrentwithtechnologychangesmustbereviewedandre-confirmedandrevisedwhennewskillsneedsareidentified.TheNIMSprocedurecallsforthisreviewandupdateeveryfouryears.Thissubmittalrepresentsacompletereview,necessaryrevisionsandre-validationoftheoriginalstandardsfollowingthePoliciesandProceduresforRevisingSkillStandardsasacceptedbyANSI.Theentiremachiningstandardsprogramincludesthreelevels.ThestandardsatlevelIIIhavenotcompletedtheirfouryearimplementationprocessandthissubmittalcoversrevisionsonlytoLevelIandLevelII.LevelIIIwhilenotdueforrevisionisincludedbecauseitisanintegralpartofthestandard.Trainingprogramsbasedonthesestandardsarenowbeingimplementedin39states.Over90schoolprogramshavenowbeenaccreditedandover3000studentshaveearnedcredentialsbasedonthestandards.
